OUR STORY

Brazn Greetings was born out of frustration, grief, and a deep desire to create something real.

Frustration every time I needed a card—for a birthday, congratulations, or anything in between—I’d spend forever searching, only to settle on something painfully generic. The designs were bland, the jokes flat, and the sentiment too sweet. No wit, no clever humor, and certainly nothing that reflected the complex and imperfect relationships I have with my parents for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Unrelatable at best.

Then my dad died.

Suddenly, I was drowning in watercolor flowers, Bible verses, and generic attempts at comfort. In a time when my grief was so big—rage, guilt, confusion—all such complicated emotions—the printed words in those cards felt completely

disconnected. I just wanted someone to throw out an F-bomb and curse the universe with me.

(…Yikes, that got heavy. Anywho…)

So I started Brazn: a brand that celebrates life’s taboo wins and hard chapters with bold color, strong design, and a voice that actually sounds like you. It’s not here to sugarcoat. It’s here to say what needs to be said—sometimes with wit, sometimes with heart, sometimes both at once.

I’m building this brand in honor of my dad, in honor of all the complicated relationships we navigate, and in honor of anyone who’s ever felt underwhelmed by a “meh” card on a really big day.

The cards were just the spark. Brazn exists to say the things that don’t fit neatly on a shelf — and it’s only getting louder.

FOUNDER + OWNER + DESIGNER

Jade Akim

Brazn Greetings is owned and founded by Jade Akim, a Wisconsin native with a background in design, and people-centered work, with dreams of entrepreneurship. Raised in a small town and shaped by years of moving, traveling, and working in roles that demanded real human interaction, Jade brings a grounded, observant approach to creativity.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, and experience spanning the service industry, sales, and design, Jade built Brazn as a response to how hollow traditional sentiment can feel. Early experiences shaped a deep empathy, resilience, and a sense of humor that leans a little dark — rooted in loving people fiercely while still seeing them clearly.

Brazn exists to help people express what’s real — whether that shows up as a greeting card, a note, a video, or something still taking shape. Bold, sincere, and unapologetically human, the brand continues to grow alongside the people it’s made for.
